Cybersecurity Awareness Month

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month and Condrey Corporation is excited to participate with more than four thousand fellow Champions from 93 countries in emphasizing the importance of cybersecurity. Cybersecurity Awareness Month is an international initiative that highlights actions everyone can take to stay safe online.

Cybersecurity Awareness Month is administered by the National Cybersecurity Alliance and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).

The theme for this year is “Secure Our World” and according to the event guide, the theme “… empowers everyone to understand the simple ways to protect yourself, your family and your business from online threats. We’re increasingly connected through digital tools and more of our sensitive information is online. This convenience comes with risks. Each of us has a part to play in keeping ourselves and others safe. It’s easy to do and takes less time than you think.”

The 2024 campaign focuses on the top four ways to stay safe online:

  1. Use strong passwords and a password manager.
  2. Turn on multifactor authentication.
  3. Recognize and report phishing.
  4. Update software.

At Condrey Corporation, we not only strongly encourage these security measures, with some of these, we’ve taken the initiative to see that our customers follow them. For example, we introduced multifactor authentication into our latest version of Aurora – a product for accessing and sharing network-stored data from anywhere.

Additionally, we continue to encourage our customers to upgrade to the latest version of our software products so that they can be confident that any post-release discovered security vulnerabilities in open-source security software that we include, has been updated.

The actions identified above are only a few of the measures individuals and organizations can take to secure themselves and their data. We at Condrey Corporation encourage you to visit the National Cybersecurity Alliance and CIA websites (linked above) to learn more.
